1. What cookies are

Cookies are small values stored by a browser and returned to a website on later requests. BrainRamp uses them only when needed to keep an account secure or remember a portal choice.

2. Cookies BrainRamp currently uses

CookieProvider and purposeLifetime
Supabase authentication cookies
sb-<project>-auth-token and possible numbered chunks
Supabase. Keeps a student, parent, or administrator securely signed in and refreshes the authenticated session. These cookies are HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax, and Secure in production.Up to 7 days, renewed while the authenticated session remains active
portal_student_idBrainRamp. Remembers which linked student a parent selected when booking or viewing student-specific information. HTTP-only and SameSite=Lax.Up to 30 days
google_calendar_stateBrainRamp. Short-lived security value used only when an administrator connects the teaching calendar to Google. It helps prevent forged OAuth requests.Up to 10 minutes

Exact Supabase cookie names can vary by project and may be split into numbered chunks where a browser requires it. Their purpose remains authentication.

3. Why BrainRamp does not show a cookie banner

BrainRamp does not currently use analytics, advertising, behavioural-profiling, or social-media tracking cookies. The cookies listed above are necessary for login security or a portal feature the user requests.

Because no non-essential cookies are set, there is no accept-or-reject banner. A banner that asks for consent to necessary cookies would be misleading because refusing those cookies would prevent the relevant secure account feature from working.

4. Browser controls

You can delete or block cookies using browser settings. Blocking authentication cookies will prevent login, and deleting them will sign the user out. Deleting portal_student_id only resets the selected-student preference.

For questions, contact Raksha Sadashiva Reddy at noreply@brainramp.org or +31 6 2057 6931.

5. If cookie use changes

If BrainRamp introduces non-essential analytics, marketing, or tracking technology, it will update this notice and obtain consent before setting those cookies where required. The date at the top identifies the current version.
